Geoinformationsgesetz
GeoIG ist die Abkürzung für das Bundesgesetz über die Geoinformationen (Geoinformationsgesetz, GeoIG) vom 5. Oktober 2007, das seit 1.7.2008 in Kraft ist.
Wichtigeste Verordnung: Verordnung vom 21. Mai 2008 über Geoinformation (Geoinformationsverordnung, GeoIV) u.a. mit Anhang Geobasisdatenkatalog.
Für geografische Namen gilt im Rahmen des Geoinformationsgesetzes ab 1.7.2008 die entsprechende Verordnung über Geografische Namen (GeoNV) vom 21. Mai 2008 SR 510.625 Details zu den rechtlichen Grundlagen von geografischen Namen vgl. hier.
